Tarfin is an Istanbul-based agrifintech platform that helps farmers and agri-dealers access agricultural inputs with flexible payment terms. Founded in 2017, it combines a mobile marketplace and a nationwide point-of-sale dealer network with data-driven risk scoring to enable “buy now, pay at harvest” (hasat vadeli) or cash purchasing.
Platform, inputs and programs
Via Tarfin Mobil, farmers compare local prices and buy inputs such as fertilizer, seed, feed, crop-protection chemicals and agricultural equipment; selected programs include an “Income-Protected Package” piloted for wheat, indexing input purchases to crop value.
Financing and ecosystem
Tarfin provides instant limit/approval workflows, supports authorized sales points, and runs dealer-facing tools such as Tarfin Pro, using machine-learning agricultural risk models and funding/structured-finance instruments to extend trade credit.
