IONITY GmbH is a Munich-based operator of a high-power electric-vehicle (EV) charging network across Europe. Founded as a joint venture backed by major automakers and infrastructure investors, the company builds and runs highway-oriented HPC sites and provides ad-hoc, subscription and fleet access to its chargers in 24 European countries.

Network and technology

IONITY deploys ultra-fast DC chargers (typically CCS) and supports features such as Plug & Charge where available. Drivers can locate stations, monitor sessions and download invoices via the IONITY app.

Commercial offerings

Access options include IONITY Direct (pay-as-you-go via QR/payment web flow), IONITY Subscriptions (e.g., Go/Power/Motion plans), an optional IONITY Charging Card (RFID), and IONITY Fleet with business RFID cards and consolidated billing. Payment supports major cards and mobile wallets, and IONITY also partners with site hosts (property owners/retailers) for station deployment.
