Enigio AB is a Swedish deep-tech company that develops software for “digital original” documents in trade and finance. Its trace:original platform aims to replace paper originals with transferable electronic documents that can be held, endorsed and presented across organizations without requiring all counterparties to join the same network.

Platform and technology

trace:original produces human-readable PDFs with embedded structured data (e.g., JSON), supports attachments, and integrates electronic seals/signatures from major providers. A public, distributed ledger/notary records cryptographic proofs of issuance and transfers to enable authenticity, integrity and possession verification while keeping business data off-chain.

The solution is used for electronic bills of lading (eBL), bills of exchange, guarantees/SBLC, promissory notes, CMR consignment notes, certificates (incl. certificates of origin), invoices, mortgages and other transferable records designed for MLETR-aligned workflows.
